Photo Tour: Inside Our Winnebago View 24J

March 11, 2019 by BrittanyHighland Leave a Comment

2016 Winnebago View 24J Interior Photos

We’re so excited to share the interior of our 2016 Winnebago View 24J with you. What a world of difference from our 2004 Class A! We feel like we’re living in a high-tech spaceship. 😂

The Holcombe Family, also known as Famagogo, purchased this rig new and didn’t make many visible interior modifications. This is a highly sought-after RV model, so we also plan to protect the resale value by avoiding major changes.

But why would we need to make changes? The interior is extremely attractive and the layout works perfectly for our family on wheels.

So stroll along with us on a quick walk-through photo tour of our 2016 Winnebago View 24J, which we’ve named Basecamp.

Winnebago View 24J Interior

Stepping Into the View

Winnebago View 24J Cockpit

The View has three doors: driver’s side, passenger side, and directly behind the passenger seat into the coach. The key fob locks and unlocks all three doors, which is amazing.

The two captain’s chairs swivel around to join the living space.

#LittleNomad’s Room

Winnebago View Cabover Bunkbed

When I was pregnant, we knew our day’s in Meriwether (our 2004 Tiffin Phaeton) were numbered. We wanted our little guy to have his own space as he got older–not just a pull-out sofa bed.

The View’s cab-over bunk is Caspian’s “own room.” It’s huge for a two-year-old, with space to sleep two adults. He loves his reading light (he’s obsessed with books) and space for all his loveys.

Kitchen Area

Winnebago View 24J Kitchen

The kitchen is directly to the left of the door as you walk in. I’m thrilled to finally have stainless steel double sinks, and the stove is a two-burner Dometic. The stove cover lifts to the back and acts as a splatter shield, making cleanup easier.

The living area television is above the sink, across from the dinette. Everything else is storage, including behind the TV. So.much.storage.

Dinette

Winnebago View 24J U-shaped Dinette

The u-shaped dinette sits across from the kitchen. We had a bench-style dinette in Meriwether, and knew we wanted u-shaped with our next RV. It’s much more spacious and comfortable.

The View’s dinette has foot rests on both sides, so two people can comfortably lounge while facing the television.

There’s also storage underneath the dinette, all the way around. The cushions lift easily, allowing access to the space underneath.

Moving to the Rear

Winnebago View 24J Bedroom Curtain

Clockwise from the kitchen, the 24J features a fridge/freezer, full-size bed with curtain, bathroom with shower, vanity with medicine cabinet, half-size closet, and microwave/convection oven.

Corner (Master) Bed

Winnebago View 24J Rear Bed

The rear bed is paired with a second television, with three large cabinets overhead. Caspian, Eric, and I each have a cabinet for our clothing and other personal items. These cabinets are huge.

The bed has three interesting features:

  • The FROLI deluxe sleep system, a curious, space-saving variation on a box spring mattress that’s surprisingly comfortable.
  • Upper halves of mattresses adjust like lawn chairs, allowing one person to sit up in bed while the other person lays down.
  • Access to storage below, which actually connects to a bay door outside the coach.

Bathroom

Winnebago View 24J Bathroom

The bathroom is small, but serviceable. Apparently we’re going to be the first people to ever use the shower because the Holcombes said they never used it once. Actually, they mounted a clothing rod and referred to it as the “closet.” 🙃

I appreciate the built-in hooks and shower storage you can see in the photo above.

Vanity and Wardrobe

Winnebago View 24J Vanity

Coming full circle, we conclude our circular tour of the View 24J with the vanity, wardrobe, and convection oven. The wardrobe is orders smaller than our Phaeton, but it beats living out of duffel bags in the Jeep.

Keep in mind, we aren’t moving straight from our previous 40-foot RV into the 25-foot View. We’ve been living out of our Jeep Wrangler since mid-December, so we have a new perspective about what we really need.

Jeep Wrangler and Winnebago View

In fact, we don’t have anything with us now other than what we had in the Jeep, and a few RV necessities we’ve purchased in the past few days (sheets, hoses, etc.). For the next few weeks, we’ll be making a list of what we really miss from Meriwether. In the end, we know the space in the View will be more than sufficient for us.

This is a a cursory tour because I’ve only touched on the interior features. There are so many drawers and doors I could open for you, and of course we haven’t talked about features like the maxed-out solar on the roof, or upgraded battery bank.

More to come–leave a comment with your questions.
