Quick Hello Before Baby Nomad Arrives

November 29, 2016 by BrittanyHighland 6 Comments

Baby Nomad 37 Weeks

Capturing the moment at 37 weeks

Well, this is it. Baby Nomad’s due date is this Saturday-only five days away. He seems pretty cozy in there, so I won’t be surprised if he shows up late. But one way or another, I expect to have a little boy in my arms this time two weeks from now.

We’ve been infrequent with our blogging since arriving back in Texas, and it’ll take some time to get into a groove after baby comes, but we have every intention of continuing to share our adventures. Eric typically updates our Facebook page daily, so that’s a good place to look for current news! We still can’t wait to get back to our full-time RV travels in 2017. Our route is still up in the air because our departure date is up in the air, but we’ll share our plans with you as soon as we know more.

La Hacienda RV Resort

Our site at La Hacienda RV Resort

It’s hard to believe we’ve been stationary since the end of July. We spent a full three months at Pecan Park Riverside RV Park in San Marcos, TX. Then we moved up to La Hacienda RV Park in far west Austin (near Lake Travis) on Nov. 1. We love it here. Our site is beautiful; the staff is kind; and we’re close-ish to Austin with groceries, restaurants and everything else we could possibly need just minutes away in Lakeway. This month we even got to catch a community performance of Fiddler on the Roof, performed by 8-18 year olds. I was smiling the whole way through.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week with family. Our three youngest kids came in from California; Eric’s mom came from Seattle; my youngest brother and his wife arrived from Denver; and my parents drove up from Corpus Christi. We rented two timeshare units on Canyon Lake (south of Austin) where we could all be comfortable and cook our huge meal. I was able to rest regularly and loved the garden tub (the one thing I’ve missed while being pregnant in an RV).

Highland Hardy Family Thanksgiving

The whole family together for Thanksgiving 2016

This week we’re doing our regular work for clients and taking one day at a time. Every plan we make has to be breakable, so we aren’t planning a lot. Eric’s heading to Massage Envy this afternoon, and tomorrow we plan to see Arrival at our favorite movie theater-in celebration of our 64th monthiversary (we’re still counting). I still have various projects and to-do’s on my mind, but I’ve made it to the point where everything that absolutely needs to be done is done.

One of my upcoming articles will be about making room for baby in an RV. But I want to wait until he’s here and I have more information and photos to share. Because baby pictures make everything better.

Until next time, thanks to all of you who are keeping Baby Nomad in your thoughts and prayers. We sense your care from afar, and appreciate your loyal community!
